If you’re like me, “Where is a good place to eat in Jasper?” is likely one of the first questions you’ll ask yourself when you in Jasper National Park. If I can offer once world of advice, unless you’re travelling in the off-season, make your restaurant reservations as soon as possible. And for places that don’t take reservations – many of the best restaurants in Jasper don’t – plan to go early.

Orso Trattoria at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
One of the best Jasper restaurants, Orso Trattoria is a renowned restaurant located within the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. It offers a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere with stunning views of Lac Beauvert and the surrounding mountains. The menu at Orso Trattoria features a delightful blend of Italian and Mediterranean flavors, showcasing fresh, seasonal ingredients, artisan pastas, and expertly prepared dishes. Don’t forget to ask for wine pairings with your dinner. With its warm ambiance, attentive service, and delectable cuisine, Orso Trattoria provides a memorable dining experience for guests visiting the lodge.
Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen
Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen is a charming restaurant located near the stunning Maligne Canyon in Jasper, Alberta. It offers a rustic dining experience with a focus on locally sourced ingredients and creative dishes inspired by the Canadian wilderness.
Evil Dave’s Grill
Known for its funky vibe, eclectic menu and casual atmosphere, Evil Dave’s Grill offers plenty of choices for menu items, including burgers, seafood, and vegetarian options. I’m still dreaming about the Red Thai Curry and would highly recommend it. They have plenty of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, too. And if you want to take your dinner to go, they’re got a great take-out menu (bison and wild boar bacon meatloaf, anyone?).
Syrahs of Jasper
This upscale restaurant is known for its fine dining experience and extensive wine list. Owned and operated by Chef Jason Munn, Syrahs of Jasper offers a menu that combines local ingredients with global flavors. For my next visit, I’m definitely having the gluten-free smoke bison ragout – yum!
Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria
If you’re in the mood for pizza, Famoso Jasper National Park is a popular choice. They serve a variety of pizzas, from authentic Neapolitan-style to new world pizzas with fresh ingredients. And not just any fresh ingredients – its the real deal. They use hand torn basil, 100% Canadian cow’s milk mozzarella, and highly refined and low-gluten flour. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the cozy atmosphere while you devour your pizza.
The Great Hall
An iconic gathering space within the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, the Great Hall truly has a globally inspired menu. And one of the best things about it is it’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner – plus there’s a really great children’s menu. There are loads of gluten-free options and everything is at a really reasonable price. So whether you want Alberta Spring Lamb Meatballs, an Ahi Tuna Bowl, or a really good burger, the Great Hall dining room has something for literally everyone. Plus, it has spectacular views.
Jasper Pizza Place
This family-friendly pizzeria has a massive menu of pizzas, including wood-fired pizzas, that incorporate diverse ingredients and flavors. Plus they have burgers and other bites. Jasper Pizza Place has a lively atmosphere and a rooftop patio, too. There are several vegan options and they can make any pizza gluten-free, too. It’s the best place to bring the kids as they offer a children’s menu and have reasonable prices.
The Raven Bistro
This cozy bistro describes themselves perfectly as “Mediterranean fusion fare with local flair”. The Bison and Bourbon Bacon Flatbread is the perfect example of that. The Raven Bistro
also focuses on seasonal ingredients and offers a diverse menu with options for different dietary preferences. Known by locals for its warm ambiance and attentive service, it’s the memorable food that you’ll continue to think for months afterwards.
Jasper Brewing Company
Located in the heart of downtown Jasper, the Jasper Brewing Co. is a brewpub that’s known for its craft beers and hearty pub fare. They offer a range of menu options, including burgers, sandwiches, and traditional pub dishes. They also do some interesting takes on classic dishes like gluten-free Rustic Elk Meatloaf and Cherry Cola Pork Ribs served with baked mac ‘n cheese.
Tekarra Restaurant
Situated on the outskirts of Jasper, Tekarra Restaurant provides breathtaking mountain views. It offers a fine dining experience with a menu that showcases Canadian cuisine. Tekarra Restaurant is closed during the off-season months, October to late May.
Coco’s Café
A casual and cozy café on Patricia Street in the town of Jasper, Coco’s offers a range of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including sandwiches, salads, and homemade baked goods. Be sure to try the french toast – you won’t regret it!

Known for its delectable pastries, bread, and coffee, Bear’s Paw Bakery is a great spot on Connaught Dr for breakfast, brunch, and afternoon treats.

If you’re in the mood for fresh seafood, fish, wild game (try the wild boar if it’s still on the menu!) and Alberta AAA Angus beef, then Fiddle River Restaurant is for you. They offer great food that you can enjoy on their outdoor patio with mountain views of the Canadian Rockies.
Sunhouse Cafe
Sunhouse Cafe is a cozy and welcoming eatery. Known for its relaxed atmosphere and friendly service, it offers a menu featuring breakfast and lunch options, including a variety of sandwiches, salads, specialty coffee and organic teas. Often recommended as Jasper’s best breakfast spot, be sure you to try one of the classic options like eggs Benedict, pancakes, and breakfast wraps.
Best Restaurants in Jasper for Afternoon Tea
Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge offers a traditional afternoon tea experience. In a beautiful setting with a great view of the mountains, Afternoon Tea at JPL allows you to indulge in a selection of teas, finger sandwiches, pastries, and other delightful treats. Be sure to ask for a window table!
