TWO YEARS ✨ What a journey. Long but short. Fast but slow. Always hard but so incredibly easy. Loving Lachlan and being his mama has made me a better person, and I feel so incredibly grateful for all of it. 💙

It’s been exactly 4 years since I’ve been on a boat - so it’s time. ⛵️

And while my next adventure on the water won’t look anything like my last, I’m excited to keep exploring with my little travel buddy. Lachlan’s daycare is closed for 2 weeks (unexpectedly) in February and since he’s turning two at the end of the month, I wanted to make the most of the opportunity - and the final days of him flying for free - to go on an adventure.

Soooo, I just booked the two of us on a cruise! I’ve never been on one before. Have you?! Give me all your tips and tricks, please!! 🙏🏼🚢

As my maternity leave wraps up I’m feeling all the feels. Mostly extreme gratitude that I got 18 whole months to create memories with my sweet baby bear, my forever adventure buddy, my rainbow baby. 🌈

Earlier this week, many families recognized World IVF Day. I went through two full rounds of IVF, unsuccessfully, in my journey to become a mom. Then Lachlan came to us naturally. He has been such a gift from the very first moment and has continued to fill our lives with love and laughter since then. 💙

Happy. Mothers. Days.

My friend @alicia_haque asked me the other day what my favourite - and least favourite - part of being a mom was. And I struggled to answer. I’ve been thinking about it for 2 days and still cannot find the words to describe the deep connection and the mutual unconditional love. I have never loved nor have I been loved this way before. I’ve never had a person nor been a person to someone else, the way I now have and am with Lachlan. To create life, give life, and nourish life - it changes you. I’ve become infinitely stronger and powerful while simultaneously becoming depleted and broken. Is there a word to describe any of this? I suppose it’s simply “motherhood”.

As for my least favourite part? Well, I think @jessurlichs sums it up perfectly in pic 2. 👉🏼

For me, the “I wouldn’t change a thing” line

For me, the “I wouldn’t change a thing” line is bull$hit. There’s so much I’d change and do differently. Motherhood is a dark, scary, lonely place. I’ve never worked so hard at something yet felt like I had no control over any of it. And countless times, I thought I was failing.

But having my son, and loving him as deeply as I do, meant I needed to keep going. One foot in front of the other. One feed after another. I might have been struggling but I was not going to quit him.

New mamas, I see you. I see the hard days and long, long nights. 💙 What’s something you’d do differently for yourself or a mom in your life?
