I wish I’d had these allergy reliefs tips sooner. I never had seasonal allergies until I moved back to Canada from the Middle East. As much as I LOVE spring, I started to dread going outside once the pollen began to fly. These four tips have made a HUGE difference for me. They’re really easy and fast ways to find allergy relief at home.
Allergy Relief Tips
Get an Air Purifier
Purifying the air in your home will be the best way to manage seasonal allergies. My biggest concern is my allergies getting in the way of a good night sleep. So I got this amazing HEPA filter air purifier for our bedroom. It captures 99.97% of airborne particles, up to 99% of viruses, and even has a specific Allergen filter setting. Bonus: it provides white noise to drown out hubby’s snoring!
Change Your Diet
Your immune system will be in overdrive trying to keep up with your allergies. Be removing other inflammatory foods from your diet, like dairy and gluten, your body can focus on getting you through allergy season.
Wash Your Hair
I noticed that my allergies became worse at night and for the longest time, I couldn’t figure out why. When you’re outside, especially on a sunny or windy day, pollen will stick to your hair. Even more so if you have product in your hair. You’re then bringing it back indoors and getting it on your pillow and into your eyes. Not good! While I realize you can’t really wash your hair every time you go outside, I suggest brushing your hair to release the pollen and using a damp towel to try to wipe the pollen from your hair. (I use a sort of “towel dry” method.) This tip made the biggest difference for me, especially because I usually only wash my hair once a week which I’ve increased to twice weekly during allergy season.
Use a Herbal Remedy
I always try to avoid medication whenever possible. For the last few years, I’ve been using A.Vogel Allergy Relief. It has helped SO much with my sneezing and itchy, burning eyes. It’s completely natural, safe to take during pregnancy, and won’t make you drowsy. This is hands down the best natural allergy relief.
I hope you find these allergy relief tips help quickly. I certainly did. Let me know if you’ve found other effective ways on how to deal with allergies, I’d love to hear them.
