I bought my first pair of Vessi shoes at the start of the pandemic. They initially piqued my interest because they’re 100% waterproof, which is key when you live in the Pacific Northwest like I do. They turned out to be super breathable and comfy too, and I wore them almost every day for nearly 3 years.
So when Vessi reached out and asked me to review their new styles, I jumped at the chance. Below is my honest review of the Vessi shoes I was gifted.
Vessi Shoes Review (2023)
Women’s Everyday Move – Polar White
Retails for CAD $150.00
I received my new Vessi shoes days before I was traveling to Mexico for a family vacation. I loved the versatility of my old Vessi’s for travel, and the Vessi Women’s Everyday Move shoe was no different. Personally, I love a bright white sneaker as I think it elevates the look of an outfit while still keeping you comfortable during a long day of travel. On my way to the airport I wore these barefoot and they started to rub my big toe a bit. I was surprised by this as my other Vessi’s took no time to break in. For the plane ride, I wore a pair of socks with them and the rubbing subsided.
For footwear, I only packed a pair of sandals and these Vessi Women’s Everyday Move shoes. I truly love how versatile Vessi’s are. I wore them to the gym, walking around Cabo, and throughout the resort. I never felt schleppy or too casual. And of course, I wore them on the plane. Because they’re made of temperature-regulating Dymatex (the first dual climate knit material), they were the perfect shoes to transition between warm and cold climates.

Women’s Everyday Move Slip-ons – Onyx Black on Black
Retails for CAD $150.00
Vessi Everyday Move Slip-ons are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. Full stop. It took me a while to try the other Vessi shoes because I legit did not want to stop wearing these. Much like my first pair of Vessi’s, it took zero time to break them in. They are super stretchy and fit like a sock – you hardly notice you’re wearing them at all! We had two days of torrential downpours here in Squamish. I was still taking Lachlan out for our hour-long walks and while the rest of me was soaked through, my feet were still warm and dry. When I took off my shoes, you could see beads of water still sitting on the outside of the shoes. Plus the black colour is far better for muddy conditions than white shoes.
There are no laces on the Vessi Women’s Everyday Move Slip-ons and because of the stretchiness, I found them really easy to pull on. This is ideal for me because I usually have a 20 lb infant strapped to me when I’m trying to get them on to go hiking. I also love the black on black colour. It makes them look cool even when you’re wearing them with leggings.
Women’s Everyday Classic – Pearl White
Retails for CAD $140.00
The Vessi Women’s Everyday Classic is the new version of the shoe I bought three years ago. Turns out they are exactly the same but… better? These are such great shoes for people on the go like me. I literally wear them from physio to Mommy and Baby Fitness, on to the grocery store followed by a walk down to the river.
I’ve always been mindful of shopping from local, ethical companies but even more so since having a baby. When I purchased my first pair of Vessi’s I knew that they were 100% vegan and that it was a Canadian company. However, I’ve since learned more about Vessi’s manufacturing process. They use 99% of knit material during production which compared to the industry standard, is a 97% increase in saved material trim waste! This reduces Vessi’s carbon footprint allowing them to save on both energy and production waste.
Great kicks that are good for the environment too? You really can’t beat that!

Are Vessi shoes actually waterproof?
Yes, Vessi’s are 100% waterproof so they’ll keep your feet dry in rain, mud, slush or snow.
How do you clean Vessi shoes?
Each pair of Vessi shoes comes with a cleaning guide. I LOVE this and wish more companies did it. Read my Step-by-Step Guide on how to clean Vessi shoes for specific guidance on hand-washing with dishsoap, white vinegar or baking soda, or how to clean them in a washing machine.
Are Vessi shoes long lasting?
Your Vessi shoes come with a one year warranty on factory defects. However from my own personal experience, my shoes have held up for almost 3 years with regular use.
Do Vessi’s make your feet sweat?
Nope! They are made of temperature-regulating Dymatex (the first dual climate knit material) which allows your feet to breathe while keeping them dry.
