Best Restaurants in Los Cabos: 2023 Dining Guide

My career is in hospitality so I always seek out the best restaurants wherever we travel. Los Cabos, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean, is one of our favourite destinations, especially for the fresh seafood and local ingredients. We most recently visited in December 2022 and these are the best restaurants in Los Cabos you need to experience.

Flora Farms

Flora Farms is described as an organic farm, and it’s located just north of San José del Cabo. But it is so much more than that. The 25-acre organic working farm has a striking multi-area, indoor/outdoor restaurant called Flora’s Field Kitchen. It is complemented by The Farm Bar. Upon arrival, enjoy treats from the ice cream and donut cart or sip a hand-crafted cocktail (the mocktails are exceptional, too) from the bar. Then get ready to dive right to the incredible menu while enjoying live music. We went for Brunch (highly recommend) and tried the legendary wood-fired pizzas, gluten free waffles, and other authentic Mexican cuisine. All meat served at Flora’s Field Kitchen come from its nearby 150-acre ranch and is humanely raised.

Steps from the restaurant, here is a large grassy area for children to run around and play. There’s also a treehouse and swing set, as well as a pond that is home to fish, ducks and turtle. Our children enjoyed exploring all of these features. Additionally, the farm boasts shops that house artwork, clothing and textiles. There is luxury accommodation called the Culinary Cottages and Haylofts, and an intimate and lush looking spa.

Acre Restaurant

Acre Restaurant & Cocktail Bar is a longtime favourite of ours and definitely one of the best restaurants in Los Cabos. Like Flora Farms, it is also located in the foothills of San Joe del Cabo (down the same bumpy dirt road). Acre will take you on an extraordinary culinary adventure. It sources fresh seafood right from the Sea of Cortez so be sure to ask about the catch of the day and go for any of the seafood dishes. Acre has a farm onsite and you can tell the flavours in the dishes and cocktails are the result of farm-fresh ingredients. If you’re looking for a local restaurant that specializes in cocktails, this is one of the best places in the Los Cabos region.

Acre recently added tree houses to their property for guests who wish to stay over. There’s also a large orchard used to celebrate special occasions, like weddings.

Manta Restaurant, by Enrique Olvera

Manta is on my list of best restaurants in Los Cabos to experience. It is located at The Cape, a Thompson hotel, and is one of the best restaurants by renowned chef Enrique Olvera. Unique dishes include Mushroom Ramen, Fish Tempura Tacos, and Fried Oyster Burrito. In addition to great food specializing in fresh local seafood, it’s one of the fine dining restaurants in Los Cabos known for the best views. Reservations are highly recommended, especially during high season.

Talavera, at Hilton Los Cabos

We had breakfast on repeat at Talavera – and the occasional dinner – as this is one of the luxury resorts’ signature restaurants. The dining experience at all the Hilton Los Cabos restaurants is very good, especially the service. However, we thought the buffet here was excellent quality and very good value – particularly for a family of five. There’s an abundance of traditional Mexican cuisine that I enjoyed trying, as well as other handmade food to order. For dinner, try the fish tacos or any of the traditional dishes like grilled meats and fish folded into warm flour tortilla.

Talavera boasts spectacular views and we watched whales breaching our first morning here. It was incredible and this is in itself is good reason to dine here!

Other restaurants at Hilton Los Cabos we enjoyed were Vela, an Italian restaurant, Sotol, a lounge that had some of the best flatbreads and guacamole our taste buds have ever experienced, and Enclave, the beach bar with swings. There was also a champagne bar set up for sundowners near the adults-only pool.
